Dancing to Madonna as a little girl and dreaming of performing as one of Janet Jackson's back-up dancers as a tween,  Liza Funke-Price's passion for dance blossomed in high school where she was on the pom-pon squad. Her earthy and bouncy style translates well into belly dance, specifically folkloric dances of the middle east, which she has been studying since 2008 under the tutelage of renowned teachers of  middle eastern dance. As a travel enthusiast, Liza enjoys participating in different cultures, eating unfamiliar food, observing unique dances. This appreciation for diversity has endowed her with the quality of adapting herself to various styles of dance. It is this adaptive nature of hers that has impacted her career as well. With a Bachelor's and Masters in Education and 11 years of teaching Spanish to middle school students under her belt, Liza followed her heart and recently changed fields, going back to her childhood dream of caring for animals. She has been a veterinary assistant for the last three years and is currently studying to become a veterinary nurse. In 2015 she bridged the world of animals and dance by creating, organizing, and performing at the Alive and Free Show, a fundraising event hosted by Donya Dance Ensemble. All proceeds went to a local animal rescue organization to aid animals in need of urgent health care. Liza's compassion for animals and people translates onto the stage where she truly connects with the audience, spreading her vibrant energy through the crowd.
